The former sparring partner of Bellator and the Pitbull Brothers is in action at LFA 143

After several editions in Rio de Janeiro, the American Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) event will land in the Northeast for the first time. Tonight (30), the LFA will hold its 143rd edition at the Ginásio Geraldão, in Recife, the capital of Pernambuco. Among the announced fights, four Pitbull Brothers athletes have been confirmed for the show. On the main card, Augusto Matias “Abdias,” who spars with Bellator champions Patrício and Patricky Pitbull, looks for his 10th win against Marcelo Marques, who is undefeated in MMA. Potiguar, who is coming off a six-game winning streak, will be making his debut in international competition.

“My expectations are the best. This will be the biggest edition of the LFA in Brazil and I am very happy to make my international debut here. I know LFA is a great showcase and gateway to the UFC. I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. I am coming off a good winning streak and I am ready to increase these numbers. My opponent is undefeated, but only until we fight. I will stamp your first defeat. We trained a lot and prepared to finish this fight and not leave it to the judges,” said the lighter.

Another representative of the Pitbull brothers academy is Fabio Aguiar. A Jiu-Jitsu black belt, he will fight in his first fight since leaving Bellator, where he fought three times. At 34 years old and with a record of 18 wins, nine by knockout and five by submission, and only three losses, he sets out in search of redemption against athlete Lucas Fernando, a former student of UFC Pedro Rizzo.

“I trained hard to be here and make my debut at one of the biggest events in the world. And the fight in my city is priceless. I had three fights in Bellator, the last one in June, and I left the event. But just see you later, because I’ll be back soon. The LFA is a huge event and is certainly a showcase for many organizations, including Bellator. I will do my best to win. My opponent is a very good guy, tall and it will be a good test, but I don’t know much about him. If he trains with Pedro Rizzo, I train with the Pitbull brothers. So everything is fine,” said the native of Pernambuco.

In addition to Augusto and Fábio, three other athletes from the Pitbull Brothers branch from Recife and João Pessoa will be in action. Fáb’s cousin, Luís Aguiar will be making his third MMA fight and will try to maintain his undefeated record against Cássio Arduino, who is also undefeated in the cages. The second athlete is Miguel Firmino, who has six fights, with five wins and only one loss. He is coming off two consecutive victories, and he will try for the third one against Vitor Ferreira. Ingrid Silva faces Natália Alves in search of her third MMA victory.

“I’m really excited to do this fight. It will be a great opportunity to show my work. It is a very important step in my career. The public can definitely expect a full fight, both standing and on the ground, and I hope to get another victory for my record”, concluded Luís.
